Recapitulating

1. Lifting off the hinges

We have seen (13.8) that at the North Pole, our Zenith coincides with the celestial North Pole point. Here, the Self is no longer surrounded by a developmental field. It keeps to itself in an absolute sense. In ancient times, people would say that in this situation, Earth can be lifted off her hinges, or put differently, that here, due to this dropping away of time and place, we are no longer bound by our horoscope as our deluding world of imagination.

This places the planets to our full disposal, free from their Zodiacal Sign (6.2).

2, New positioncircles

Here, at the end of our journey over Earth, standing in the North Pole axis, we have reached the point where the positioncircles are cast out. This implies that in this point, we can also decide to cast out our position circles anew. By analogy, this situation can be seen as an inner moment of concentrated, heightened awareness and of life-changing decision-making. After all, as human beings we are able to reposition ourselves.
Regarding this, a former issue can be reviewed agian (3.1).

3. No Ascendant

So in our journey round the Sun, we now have encountered a situation in which our Horizon coincides with the Ecliptic (fig. 15.3). In this case, we have not two coinciding axes, as we had at the North Pole, but two coinciding planes. Because there is no point of application for the Zodiac in our own local field, both the Ascendant point and the Houses remain indeterminate.
As the projection drops away once more, we are liberated from our horoscope, now seen as our karmic bondage. We merge and are one with the manifested earthly creation. This special constellation occurs every 24 hours at the Arctic circle during a fraction of a second. (*)

4. Further determination of the horoscopic workingrange

Summarizing, it turns out that there are two situations in which the casting of a horoscope is impossible by lack of the means of projection.
For all other situations on Earth projection does work. This fact lays down the potential workingfield on Earth for casting the horoscope.

Before we continue

Disenchantment

Astrology’s conceptual framework has been handed down to us by tradition as a fixed given. A closer look at this has led us to an astrological framework that directly stems from our own nature, as inhabitants of Earth. Possibly, the knowledge that was handed down by tradition was in fact founded upon this, our own nature.
Perhaps this conclusion will be felt by some readers as a disenchantment or demystification of the old familiar astrology. On the other hand, in our exploration of the significance of the horoscope, we are actually finding more and more valid points of reference, which make it worthwhile to continue our investigation and which can help us by pointing the way.

A new perception of Man

It turns out that the power of astrology is not directly derived from celestial factors that are beyond our reach, but lies within ourselves. In our dealing with astrology and with our own horoscope (3.1), this opens up new reference points for a contemporary, astrological view of Man.
My exploratory journey now becomes more and more worthwhile, because I am starting to touch on my questions in the Foreword (0.1). This, for sure, is a cheerful thought.

Reference points

So, based on our findings so far, we will continue our investigation of astrological reference points that are related to our human nature and to Earth itself as well. At this point, I will also discuss some concepts from physics and depth psychology. The fruit of this discussion might be an alignment of various well-known and acknowledged views of human nature with our own findings. This would contribute to more unity in our thinking about ourselves, taking ourselves as our reference point, a unity that may turn out to be supported by astrology.

Keeping in mind

In the following texts, we will therefore first explore the development and function of the human Self. Meanwhile I ask my readers to keep our findings from our journey over the Earth and round the Sun at the back of their mind, so we can work these out later in a more integrated way.
